We picked the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon in the midst of a tragic out of control fire that has now caused the evacuation of Healdsburg and Windsor. We successfully raced the impending power shutdown to sort and de-stem the fruit and get it into tank. I am now sitting here worried about all of the folks in the path of this fire including my good friends at @reynosovineyards and the folks at @jimtownstore And @medlockames . Please plan a trip back to Sonoma next spring especially to the Alexander Valley. And please support these wineries by buying their wines. #SONOMASTRONG
Over 16,000 acres with only 5% containment. At times the Kincade Fire was consuming the equivalent of a football field every three seconds. So much devastation and tragedy. Grateful for all of the firefighters that put themselves in danger to contain this fire. #SONOMASTRONG
We are pleased to have our 2018 Stressed Vines Rose' of Pinot Noir available now at Scardello. Scardello is a cut-to-order cheese shop focused on handcrafted cheeses and tasty accompaniments. So excited about this. I received a text from a good friend of mine yesterday afternoon when I landed in San Francisco. He wanted to let me know that he had seen on his news feed that our 2017 Pinot Noir received a 90-point score from @wineenthusiast . A big "Thank You!" to my amazing winemaker, Erica Stancliff, for making this possible!
We are extremely excited to announce that all of Stressed Vines' current releases are now available at the Highland Park location of Royal Blue Grocery. Royal Blue Grocery is one of the coolest boutique grocery stores in Texas. To have all of our wines available for sale here is almost beyond belief. I cannot express how excited I am... Although I believe I just did.😜 Thank you Christina!
I'm very excited to announce that the very cool and classy wine bar, Roots and Water, #rootsandwaterwine Just off the design district, is now pouring our 2017 Stressed Vines Pinot Noir. .
If you haven't been to this place yet you owe it to yourself to go. Whether it be just coming in for a glass of some amazing wine, buying a bottle of something a little more obscure, tasting some really cool wines just because AJ wants to share them with you, or bringing in a bottle and friends and sharing with those around you..
This place is amazing. It has a great common room, lockers, and an amazing selection of wines and a great vibe for you to taste them. Our 2017 Pinot Noir was just featured in a recent emailing to all members. We are very grateful for the support. In fact after harvest I am going to become a member here as well.
This post will be very similar to the post last week for the Pinot Noir... Today we processed the grapes for the 2019 Stressed Vines Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Reynoso Family Vineyards. After de-stemming and pulling all the jacks, the fruit was placed into a bin with dry ice for a three to four day cold soak to be followed by another four to five days of extended maceration. I then had to run a sample to ETS Labs for the initial chem panel.
